“I just don’t see how you can make any money just by blogging.”
“You can’t make money blogging. You make money by selling stuff to people who visit your blog.”
The other day I was talking to a business owner friend of mine (the real kind… he owns a trucking company) and that was the topic of conversation.
It’s amazing to me the number of people who just don’t get it.
They ask each other why 97% fail.
They buy products that will presumably show them how to get “leads” from social media sites.
They talk about “branding yourself”.
They talk about “sharing value”.
They talk about “social media marketing”.
And they wonder why they’re making no money.
The reason is simple.
They’re neglecting the one thing that any business owner MUST do to survive.
Ya gotta sell.
Go ahead and share value.
Then sell.
Brand yourself.
Then sell.
Post all over social media and make 10k friends.
Then sell.
Because whether you like it or not, you get paid either commissions or straight from your customer’s wallet ONLY when this one thing happens…
when someone BUYS from you.
If you’re wondering why nobody’s buying, odds are it’s because you’re not selling.
And if you’re not selling, the writing is on the wall.
It’s just a matter of time before you run out of money and your business fails.
That’s just the way it is.
You’re in business to sell as much of your product or service as possible.
Why?
Because buying it will improve the lives of your customers.
And because that’s true you have a moral obligation to get your product or service into the hands of as many people as possible.
Their lives will be improved, and so will yours.
Imagine that.
You’re in the business of improving other people’s lives and you can get rich doing it.
What could be better than that?
So get out there and sell your booty off.
Your customers will be glad you did, and so will you.
