I was reading Vernon Howard’s A Treasury of Trueness when I hit this line: “Instead of becoming a little quiet, become totally quiet and see if the quietness is your friend or your foe.”
I stopped there because I been practicing quietness in my head.
A little quietness is just being present.
Totally quiet means I am deeply engage with whatever I could be doing like working or creating writing like this one. It sounds weird because it doesn’t look like quiet but in my head there is peace.
When I need to stand up and keeping moving, usually my iWatch will buzz: it is time for me to stand up. Even when I am standing up and keep moving the quietness stays in my head.
For me, the quietness is a trusted friend.
Sometimes it does not, when I have too much things to do, but the awareness which is the main priority will step in so I can execute it.
