Do you believe in celestial signs or unexpected occurrences that seem to arise in response to your conversations with the universe? If so, you may find resonance in today’s blog about Duke, just as I do.

Allow me to share the progression from my sleep last night to my experiences today.

I managed to get nearly eight hours of sleep, but I found myself awake early, revising my listings in an attempt to fall asleep again, which unfortunately did not occur. Instead, I ended up dozing on the couch. To help me sleep, I listened to a podcast, which was somewhat effective, although I suspect my mind remained alert, actively engaged with the content.

Ultimately, I achieved only five hours of sleep, which was less than ideal yet manageable. I initially planned to stay home today, but after making a sale, I decided to drop off the item at Office Depot on the other side of town, as weekends generally afford me lighter traffic compared to weekdays.

As I drove, I found myself reflecting on Duke and thought, “Okay, Duke, what shall I write about you today?”

The silence prompted me to turn on my music, and the first song to play was “Kiss of Life” by Sade.

You might wonder what the connection is between Sade’s song and Duke. Allow me to explain.

When I began blogging about Duke in February or March of this year, my inaugural post was centered around Valentine’s Day. In that entry, my Barbie doll donned a bikini and hula grass skirt, enjoying a sunset in Hawaii. Yes, I often blog about my Barbie dolls.

That particular piece was a dedication to Duke, and given its Valentine’s theme, it felt fitting to express love, especially after I had read about his history. This act inspired me to consider blogging about him regularly, although I often found myself sidetracked by other commitments. Nevertheless, I continued because I genuinely enjoyed it.

The song from Sade serves as the theme for my blogs about Duke, particularly because she mentions, “there must be an angel by my side.” This resonates with my recent experience at a thrift store, where I discovered a pair of angel wings crafted by Harley Davidson.

The connection between Sade’s song and the angel wings sparked a memory of my Valentine’s blog about Duke.

As I was concluding this blog, my partner Rebel entered my art room and unexpectedly exclaimed, “Duke—A Great Hawaiian.” This caught me off guard, prompting me to ask, “What do you mean?” He then pointed to a book about Duke that was situated right next to me, which I had previously overlooked.

While a single validation could be dismissed as coincidence, multiple affirmations signify a manifestation of existence. Even in spirit, these connections can create ripples and momentum.

What are your thoughts on this?

As you contemplate your response, I will conclude here, and I look forward to our next interaction.
