Boop Ship Chronicles

It is kind of exciting, yet a bit challenging. What resonates with me with my daily rotation theme will speak to me deeply, and for two weeks now my Friday has had an open spot. The first week I left it open, and then again last week, but this week this is something I have to take care of now.

I looked around me for what could inspire me to be my Friday’s theme. The first that came to mind were Pez candy dispensers, jewelry, thimbles, and other random things, and I went with Pez.

But when I looked down, I saw a bag full of Betty’s expired calendars sitting right next to me on the floor.

At first I didn’t touch the bag, as my mind kept reminding me I have to start my rowing as it is getting late, but I ignored it. I then grabbed a page, and it was a picture of Betty in her workout clothes, holding the dumbbells in both hands, and she is sweating.

That image of Betty working out and sweating — a song came to mind by Olivia Newton-John called “Let’s Get Physical” — so I put that calendar page down and went rowing finally.

The synchronicity of looking for a theme, to Betty working out, when my brain was screaming to work out as well, is such a powerful sign of clarity and validation.

I did all my research, and on June 28, 2026, I emailed Fleischer Studios and Global Icons and stated my ideas, as I would love to animate every calendar and of course seek their permission to use the character.

To this day I never got a response, and to be honest, they might not even respond at all, so I felt stuck on what I wanted to do.

With all the ideas I have in mind, the excitement of writing is ready to be released, so I will proceed forward.

This will serve as my first introduction of a storytelling about Betty Boop. I researched carefully to understand how to protect my writing, the distributor, the trademark, and other affiliates with Betty Boop legal rights.

One thing I will tell you though, is the majority of Betty’s scenes I will be with her, because I am her narrator and she will be coming to life.

Excited for her first story? Stay tuned every Friday.

P.S.
Betty is a vintage calendar character from my personal collection. All stories and dialogue are original creative fiction written by Rockit of RockitNRebel.
