Thank goodness I only had to wear it, not describe it!
As the years have zipped by, I’ve accumulated a treasure trove of my fabulous fashion escapades, which is totally a hoot because some of those runway-worthy threads I rocked back in the day are sashaying back into the spotlight, waving at today’s trendy influencers!
I’ve also got a nifty photo collection of binders bursting with outfits from brands that begged me to strut their stuff. Naturally, I kept a copy for the memory vault!
Today’s blast from the past is my senior prom gown from 1963.
The ad was something straight out of a fairy tale: “Barbie glows at prom in a simple, green satin number with a bodice trimmed in icy blue. Wisps of blue and green tulle float from the waist, forming a bouffant skirt over glimmering satin. And her faux pearl necklace perfectly matches her open-toe emerald green heels.” Talk about a fashion novella!
I am relieved that my task was limited to wearing it rather than describing it!
Back in ’63, my wardrobe boasted a humble 37 outfits, while Ken strutted around with 20.
Fast-forward to now, and I’ve lost count!
My home is practically a museum of clothes, shoes, bags, hats, and jewels—gifts from brands I represent.
Yet, I have no qualms about splurging because, hey, I’ve earned it.
Over the years, a handful of folks have wondered if my gig as a brand influencer pays all the bills. With a polite smile, I said, “Nope,” and they leaned in, eager for the scoop.
So, I teased, “I’ve got a little money-making cauldron bubbling away on the side!”
Curiosity piqued, they begged for details. My cheeky reply? “Here’s a link, go on a little treasure hunt instead!”
