What I notice by default is most people don’t know what their best actually is, so they can only offer what they think is their best. Rarely, someone will exceed even that ceiling and those will be the one that I find impressive.
I can speak for myself on going the extra mile, like for example I will study a subject and found the answer. But, I don’t stop there but rather goes deeper like how did i find the answer on this particular question, did I act on, did I dig deeper how to improve it. These are some of the steps I am familiar, which tells me I am in tune with whatever is my focus in that moment.
I can honestly admit though, I did encountered few of these folks who will step up unexpectedly when I have challenges and needed extra boost of action.
While majority of others, for example, someone ask them to take care of things. They will do it, but that was it no more no less. They don’t take the initiative to push further, maybe because that is how they are in life. Or they want to do more, but afraid to ask or say anything, or just too lazy even when they have more capacity or potential.
I can only wish i expect others operate the way I do, but it seems to me most won’t push that far, because it is work and work requires additional steps.
But I can guarantee most people probably will accept everything that is good if it is free, and only if it benefits them.
This is why I learned to do things for myself first, and when I decided to reach out to a strangers or a relative, I don’t have a high expectations, or I will get rejected.
Wisdom I carry with me that serve me well is that when I become dependent on the higher, which mean God or the Universe, my need of independent of the lower, which mean the public, is lower.
