Yesterday I decided to drive my partner Rebel to his acupuncture appointment with grocery shopping in mind while waiting for an hour but the last moment I said to myself I can’t do that because what is on my list are frozen food.

Instead I decided to go thrifting with 30 minutes goal then go back and just wait at the parking lot.

Off I go and usually this thrift store called St. Vincent Thrift is the ideal place to go if you are like me who’s into jewelry. I been here many times and the last time I was here I found a vintage silver and matching necklace and earrings and sold it for the price of the silver.

I am always looking for handbags because long time ago when I learned purses is the main best seller on my online stores, followed by vintage arts and other knickknacks. With everything I sell I have a habit and practice that I do first before listing them.

For example purses which my observation most sellers will not clean the purses but to me I always take the time to use a lysol wipes inside and even those that are not leather made I do apply leather conditioner this is why all my purses are in good condition and they don’t smell stinky.

For my vintage arts, I usually put them inside a moisture free sleeves and put a stiff cardboard in the back so they will stay straight and hide them inside a dark place so it will preserve it’s good condition.

Lol…I am that type when I come across I sell my buyer will get the merchandise in a way better condition than when I bought them. I take pride on good service.

I didn’t see any purses but I noticed something inside a locked case. At first I saw this all orange looks like a box but no one is there to help me and I am blocking the line for people who are ready to pay for their item.

I looked further and saw two employees in the corner just talking watching this new employee taking care of a long line. Not knowing if they will notice me or maybe they but decided to ignore me. I thought for a minute or so if I should go and interrupt their conversation and made the choice of walking toward them.

I can tell the lady was irritated yet here is my thought on when the line to pay is longer someone should help that one guy who’s doing all the cashiering.

It was the guy who walked with me and before he even started helping me the lady behind me asked if I am in line ready to pay. I said No and she walked right ahead of me.

That orange square shape box is actually a Harry Potter book so I said thank you. But, next to it is a bag with little toys which I thought was vintage Lego characters. For a cheap price of $8.00 I said even if I know right away I have sorting to do.

When I brought it home I made a conscious decision to wash them and here is my mentality with toys. They came from a thrift store and I have no idea how long its been in a bin in their warehouse, what came with it, and I know toys are being touched, stored and dropped.

By soaking them in water with soap then rinse and now they are outside to get it dry. I take these steps so whoever buys it knows it was cleaned with care.

But, why did I ended up buying toys instead of purses? My answer to that is listening to my intuition. My intuition I never doubt and I built that trust from a very young age. It leads me to places and circumstances where I am being protected.

Also, because I cherish toys that I am gravitating towards that childlike energy. This is the result of me not having a real toys when I was young. My childhood was spent on chores, school and when I played with kids in my neighborhood we go out and spent time climbing trees, running and I was active as a young kid that to this day I carried the same habit.

There is no specific memory tied to that Roblox characters it just it came to mind how much I love going to that Five n Below store and I can spend an hour just browsing because to me it is a place loaded with toys.

Before I put it outside I showed it to Rebel and I said proudly I found me vintage Lego characters. Only to find out it was Roblox toys and they been discontinued since 2023.

I have no idea of this toy but I am slowly learning each characters and none of mine has a rare characters. But, that is okay because finding toys I have no clue is another way of learning again and I love learning in general. These toys will teach me about their traits and their purpose.

That feeling of me aligning them to my step always brought this curiosity as I found myself looking at them individually and checking how to they look like closer and what make each characters unique. I always go through to this stage every toys that I encountered.

I do believe no matter how old someone can be the opportunity to learn something not only smart but it is also one way to make our mind alert and sharper.

Learning something new is critical to me because I have seen many people stop learning because they claim they are old, they are too busy or they don’t have that interest anymore which I do not believe.

If you are reading this perhaps I made you smile or maybe you get irritated because I hit a nerve about someone who stopped learning.
