Better Choices

Life is funny.
You make choices that you believe will give you the best result.
Sometimes ya get it right.
Other times ya don’t.
I’m working on helping the Thug learn about how life works. She wasn’t with me during her formative years, so I gotta work with her where she is. Very little connection between the Thug’s view of the world and reality, which can be a challenge. If you’ve ever dealt with a young adult, I’m sure you know what I mean.
For instance, the Thug doesn’t grasp the fact that the world cares nothing about her. What she thinks, what she does, and what she believes is fair. None of it matters at all to the rest of the world.
The Thug seems to think that the amount of money she makes has a bearing on what she’s required to pay for things.
Take rent, for instance.
My position is that since she’s reached the age of majority, she is now responsible for her own expenses. Rent, phone, power, water, and food.
She has a differing opinion.
Of course, she’s not stupid. She knows that things cost what they cost and if she doesn’t pony up the cash, she simply can’t have what she can’t afford.
But that doesn’t make those tough conversations any easier.
I see my role as a trusted advisor to help her get comfortable with the idea that she must sacrifice in one area to pay for another. All of her choices matter and they may have consequences that go beyond what she can see directly in front of her.
Paying for all of your marketing needs, of course, works in exactly the same way.
A marketer may be dazzled by all the bells and whistles that a new whiz-bang tool has. When it’s bought, it seems like the magic wand that’ll make all of their business dreams come true.
This is seldom the case.
While all the bling looks good on the sales page, if you’re not going to make full use of it, you’re simply wasting money that could be spent on more important things.
Like advertising, for example.
Most businesses don’t succeed. That’s just a fact of business life. The reason they don’t succeed is because they usually run out of cash and can’t stay in business long enough to make a profit.
Don’t let that happen to your marketing business.
When you lay the foundation of your business, make sure it’ll grow with you and has everything you need to run your business in the future as well as today. It doesn’t have to be the best, it just has to get the job done.
This will get the job done.
We’ll grow with you and won’t jack up the price when you get bigger. It may not be the prettiest, but it meets all of your online marketing needs for less cost. Plus it’s as easy to use as checking your email.
Like getting new customers.
