I also learned that this coin dates back to 1975 and is made of cupro-nickel; however, I was surprised to find that some versions of it were crafted from real silver. Although my token has a gold-tone finish, it is not made of gold, which is part of its uniqueness. The silver versions are composed of .999 pure silver, are rare and expensive, and typically come in display boxes.
