Here are some of mine.
Many of my intentions for 2025 revolve around breaking old habits that do not contribute positively to my overall well-being. I also aim to gain a deeper understanding of the various human experiences that have impacted me, such as the little whispers in my mind that surface when I’m feeling down.
Then there goes human nature’s habitual characters such as; I notice people fake smiles as I approach, receive texts asking how I am, only to get no response when I reply, or when I offer genuine compliments that are met with negativity or dismissiveness. Simple greetings, whether in the morning or at any time of day, often get responses that lack engagement.
I feel a sense of irritation when I receive texts from people who only reach out to borrow money, especially after months of silence, or when they only call to share their problems, but when it’s my turn to talk, I hear, “Can I call you later?” only to wait months without communication. There are many more challenges I wish to tackle and enhance as they arise.
I hold immense gratitude for the challenges I’ve faced and overcome, even though the transition was gradual. These experiences have brought about significant changes and positivity in my life. I also cherish the memories of our dogs who passed away a few years ago; their joyful memories continue to bring a smile to my face.
For my daughter Arlette, who came to visit and brought home a Build-A-Bear we named Cinnamon, in honor of our dog Cinnamon, to join our other Build-A-Bear dog, Evo, named after our other dog Evo. I recalled saying when she returned the first one, “Now they are both here in this house,” as all their cherished memories continue to linger within these walls.
For my partner, whose unwavering support and love inspire me. He listens to me patiently, even when I leave him a bit confused at times.
Rather than just wishing, I prefer to take action to grow as a person—embracing joy, seeking the goodness in every situation, maintaining my health, and nurturing self-love. I aim to carry my own energy and light, allowing me to shine brightly.
